Experience
I have worked for more than five years as a tutor in K-12, tertiary and further education. I have formal experience in both the secondary and tertiary education systems, including as a laboratory demonstrator, tutorial facilitator and teacher aide. I specialise in adult learners, English/Humanities majors, Biological Sciences, teaching English as a second language, and fundamentals of literacy and numeracy. Grades and qualifications: graduated with an OP of 2 (equivalent of an SAT score of 2190 or an ACT score of 35). Achieved a VHA10 standard (100th percentile) in English, high VHA standards (95th percentile or higher) in English Literature, Music and Information Processing Technology and VHA standards (90th percentile or higher) in Calculus and Physics. Why I want to be a tutor: I love to teach, and I really enjoy working with students to discover the ways in which they learn. I believe that most people are capable of grasping most concepts, from the simple to the complex - it's simply a matter of finding the key to their understanding.
